The Folk Orchestra
The Folk Orchestra is an independent part of SĽUK which members are excellent professional musicians. Its main activity is providing musical accompaniment in SĽUK’s programmes performed altogether with singers and the dance group.
Emphasis is placed on the style and characteristic features of interpretative music art from different cultural regions of Slovakia. The Folk orchestra and the singing group also offer independent concerts consisting of individual pieces of music and songs show casing various traditional Slovak folk musical instruments.
Artistic musical skills of our musicians are encouraged by acquired classical music education; technical skills and experience in multi-genre programs of SĽUK where the interpretation of the other genres such as classical music, jazz, world music and rock is required.
